Our Story

Our story begins not in a boardroom but in the bay with grit-stained hands busted bumpers and a belief that things could be done differently. In the early days Jonathon Best was just a young guy with a relentless work ethic learning the ropes at a local body shop. He didn’t have investors or shortcuts, just a clear view of what was broken in the industry and an even clearer idea of how to fix it.

A Dream Too Big to Ignore

After years of experience and a dream too big to ignore Jonathon opened the first Better Collision shop in Beaufort, South Carolina in August 2019. It started small, a handful of people committed to doing things the right way. Jonathon didn’t build Better Collision to chase profits. He built it to raise the standard. To create a space where people felt taken care of not taken advantage of. Where a handshake still meant something. Where employees were treated like family and customers with respect.

A Better Way Begins

Growth by Word of Mouth

From that one shop Better Collision began to grow, organically through reputation not advertising. Mount Pleasant opened in September 2020 followed by Moncks Corner in November 2021. In November 2022, we launched Even Better, our dedicated electric vehicle repair division. Each new step forward was built on the same values: quality, trust and doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

Success Built on Service

As we grew so did our impact. Our team expanded to over 200 employees and our revenue doubled in just a few short years. In January 2023, we launched VisionRight, an in-house ADAS recalibration division that reflects our commitment to innovation. In November 2023, we opened our Charleston location, bringing Better Collision back to where Jonathon’s vision first took shape.

Expansion with Intention

By May 2024, we had brought Better Collision to Bluffton and soon after to Sumter in September 2024. In December 2024, we opened in Rock Hill. Each location was more than just a new building, it was a chance to extend our culture care and craftsmanship to a new community.
